To eat, or not to eat? Can you resist an Easter egg before the big day?

Easter is only a few weeks away and the chocolate stampede has begun. I was in a well known supermarket yesterday following a tip off about half price Easter eggs. Having secured the biggest trolley in the car park, I ventured in, picked up a scanner and was off!

However, when I reached the aisle in question, to my horror the shelves were bare.

Tsk. Too late again…Only one rubbishy Topic egg was left, battered box and all. Oh to hell with it, I thought. I’ll have that with a cup of tea when I get home…This is not something I would normally do by the way, but I saw my green light upon recalling a friend’s confession. Having been super organised and bought all her Easter eggs weeks ago, she is now back to square one after scoffing the lot!

I did get all my Easter eggs in the end, but for a few more pennies than anticipated. At least it’s done. Usually I am horribly unorganised. The last man standing on Easter Saturday, hopping from supermarket to convenience store, to petrol station to corner shop in a bid to get anything remotely resembling a chocolate egg for my little nieces and nephews. Never mind if it’s a huge inappropriate 80% dark chocolate number with highly sophisticated font, or a Double Decker offering in a faded box. If they’re there, they’ll do.

Of course, we don’t have to succumb to the chocolate frenzy and could just plump for something with a little more longevity perhaps? Alongside a little egg or two so as not to totally disappoint those with a sweet tooth!

For my girls this year I have decided upon a beautifulRagtales rabbit each. I have chosen Bo Rabbit and Fifi the White Rabbit. Both cute and irresistible, I’m sure they will go down a treat – as will the little chocolate eggs I have in store for our annual hunt around the garden.

So I am just about organised I think. That’s if I can manage to leave my recently bought stash of eggs alone until the big day. The mere thought of a last minute dash around all the corner shops within a 20-mile radius should see to that. I hope!
