Revelling in the normality of life.

Can you believe we have completed one twelfth of the year already? Box ticked, done and dusted. It’s been a long month though eh? It’s amazing how time can drag on when you’re not drinking alcohol, eating chocolate, cakes or biscuits and squeezing yourself into compression pants for tedious sessions at the gym…good job I haven’t been doing any of that then he he.

No, My January has been long, but quite alright thank you very much. Bumbling along nicely, revelling in the normality of life, that sort of thing. In fact, it’s at times like this when my general contentment peaks. When I’m neither here nor there, nothing on the horizon and nothing left behind to pine for.

My days are ruled by the iron rod of routine!

It might sound harsh but I like it.

Here are a few of the things that make my very normal routine a boring but happy one.

  • That first morning coffee. I’m a zombie without it.
  • Getting into work and lighting up the showroom. It’s a sight to behold!
  • Catching up with colleagues over my second cup of coffee of the day.
  • Hearing from a happy customer. Yes, it happens often enough to be classed as routine!
  • Choosing a treat from the deli downstairs. Today it’s a hearty pulled pork sandwich complete with apple sauce. I don’t do this every day – honest…
  • Getting home in the evening, closing the door and putting my big furry slippers on.
  • Getting the children ready for bed in front of the fire.
  • A very cold glass of wine.
  • Slipping into bed when the electric blanket has been on for half an hour. Pure bliss!
