Many children are still off school but the holidays are over in our house. Thankfully.
Don’t get me wrong, I love spending time with my girls but there comes a point when I am reduced to little more then a prisoner in my own home. Anchored amongst the rapids with a ferocious tide of barefoot children racing past. Laughing, dancing and singing, leaving a trail of destruction - and sweet wrappers - behind them.
All I can do is wait for the boredom to set in, the giggles to subside and the kettle to boil (again) before their next game starts up with a flurry of excitement as I stare o..

So, you’ve decided to invest in a new bed for your child but don't quite know what to go for. Buying a child’s bed isn’t the simple affair it once was, with fierce competition on the high street plus designers clamouring to corner the market with novel and eye-catching ideas.
Car shaped beds, bus shaped beds, beds built like castles - complete with turrets…
Of course aesthetics are important but it is also crucial to make sure you spend wisely, especially when looking for something to see your toddler through to their teens and beyond.

Little Lucy Willow will be joining this 31-day quest to improve the nation’s sleeping habits - not least those of our children - by offering advice on everything from evening routines and sleep-inducing decor, to our very own area of expertise...beds.
Let’s get started by asking you some very simple questions posed by The Sleep Council.
If you can answer ‘yes’ five or more times then we’re afraid you need to invest in a new bed!
Is your mattress seven years old..
There is definitely a buzz about our new competition here in the office.
The usual “What would you do if you won the lottery?” has now been replaced with…
“Just what would YOU choose if you won £250 worth of Little Lucy Willow accessories?”
Before we go on, let me point out that the odds of you actually winning this competition are much, much higher than those of scooping the lousy lottery, making it a little more exciting don’t you think?

The other night as I chased Martha around the room in a vain attempt to get her ready for bed we fell into the usual routine.
She disappeared down the stairs, pyjamas in hand, as I stood quietly behind the door ready to shout “boo!” when she crept back in. Laughing hysterically she launched herself onto her Looby Lou Cabin Bed and proceeded to jump up and down.
I watched and waited as she bounced herself into a giggling stupor, knowing she would be so tired after five minutes that I’d have her tucked in and snoozing in no time.
"No wonder she's so trim despite all t..
Is that a hint of luuurrrve I can sense in the oh so misty air…?

A child’s room is always full of little trinkets and treasures that get lost amongst the mayhem. A rosette for riding, a trophy for dancing or a homemade rocket perhaps?
There are so many things that our children take pride in and want to show off to the world.
So where do we put all this memorabilia?
A beautiful wall shelf could be a good place to start. At Little Lucy Willow we have now added these stunning designs to our Florence Flutterby and Daisy Brambles collections.

Ok so here are the statistics...More than 50% of Little Lucy Willow customers opted to buy three quarter or double sized beds for their children last year.
It’s clear there has been a shift in the market but why?
Jason Thomas, Sales Director at Little Lucy Willow says it’s all down to sensible spending.
“It goes without saying that you need adequate space if you are going to purchase a double bed for your child, but those who have that luxury are choosing to buy bigger, simply to cut costs later on.
“It makes a lot of sense, especially if you are looking at a high qualit..
So how has your December been so far? I'm hoping all your presents have been bought, wrapped and are tucked under the tree ready to be devoured on Christmas Day...ok maybe that is wishful I thinking but I'm sure it won't be too long before you're ship shape and ready!
This can be a super hectic time. I find the best way to combat any seasonal stress is to take time out with the children. I like to remind myself what it’s really all about. A simple drive out to look at all the Christmas lights (whilst listening to some festive songs of course!) is a great diversion from all t..
Christmas shopping should never be a chore. But when you’re surrounded by cheery festive overload it sort of pushes you to the other side of happiness. Oh and when you forget it’s Black Friday too...
Go just about anywhere and you’ll hear Shakin Stevens on loop, see shop assistants in titled santa hats and mechanical elves trapped in fake snow storms to remind you that ‘tis the season to be jolly’. Of course there are the crowds to contend with too. Like being swept up in the rapids it took all the strength I could muster to make my way to the shop entrance and cling on for dear life. ..
It’s time. We must down tools and get those Christmas thinking caps on.
Outfits, food, decorations and most importantly - presents!
The biggest gifts are usually the easiest ones to sort out. The ones we know will be greeted with howls of delight and eternal thanks (for about two weeks at least...). We can get these boxed off, boxed up and ready to go under the tree.
It’s the little ones that get us all in a tizzy. What can we possibly put in those stockings that won’t get cast aside like an old stinky sock the moment they’re unwrapped?
Well here at Little Luc..
