Sleep trouble? Spare a thought for the Scandinavians.
I don’t know about you but since those pesky clocks went forward we’ve had a week of “I’m not going to bed yet, it’s still light!” followed by “can I have my breakfast now?” at precisely silly o’clock in the morning. We always notice a surge in business in the Little Lucy Willow accessories department at this time of year as parents attempt to make their children’s bedrooms a more attractive place to be. It’s a great idea and I’m all for it or course! A lovely new quilt? or a pretty cushion perhaps? Maybe a Daisy Brambles bed will do the trick? Ok maybe that’s pushing the envel..
Cowboys or cupcakes? The choice is yours if you win our competition…
This month we are giving away a luxurious bedding set to one lucky winner. But will you choose cowboys or cupcakes as your prize?   Little boys might love our cowboy organic duvet set with its intricate embroidered design featuring all things cowboy, including boots, hats and lassos. Little girls might prefer our gorgeous gingerbread duvet setfeaturing appliqued cupcakes and multicoloured dots with a rose, mini gingham trim. This also goes very nicely with our Daisy Brambles bed which happens to be on offer this month too… All you have to do to be in with a chance of wi..
The sorry tale of my first Easter bonnet.
Easter bonnets. Say no more. However that may result in the shortest blog in history, so I’ll spill.   Here goes. This the day I dread most on the craft activity calendar. It’s the one that separates the men from the boys, the “leave them to it” s from the serious crafty contenders. Despite usually being part of the former, I go all out on this one to compensate for the humiliation I suffered as a child. (come on now, “one, two, three, aaahhhhh!”)   It was a day I would much rather forget but unfortunately will struggle to do so as long as Easter endures.   Picture a worl..
Sail away to your dreams with Little Buoy Blue.
At Little Lucy Willow we are renowned for producing beautiful children’s bedroom furniture to suit girls and boys alike.   While little girls will always desire the perfect opulent hideaway, most little boys are just happy to go with the flow. But that shouldn’t mean they go without the den of their dreams…   So here at Little Lucy Willow we have created some stunning bedroom furniture for boys to inspire their taste and imagination.   In addition to Barney and Boo, Archie Fairweather and Charlie Oakley, we have Bertie Beetle, Felix Hemmingway and my personal fav..
To eat, or not to eat? Can you resist an Easter egg before the big day?
Easter is only a few weeks away and the chocolate stampede has begun. I was in a well known supermarket yesterday following a tip off about half price Easter eggs. Having secured the biggest trolley in the car park, I ventured in, picked up a scanner and was off!   However, when I reached the aisle in question, to my horror the shelves were bare. Tsk. Too late again…Only one rubbishy Topic egg was left, battered box and all. Oh to hell with it, I thought. I’ll have that with a cup of tea when I get home…This is not something I would normally do by the way, but I saw ..
Bring colour and fun into your child’s bedroom with Little Lucy Willow.
Spring is all about new beginnings and is the perfect time to revamp your home.   Whether it’s simply moving a sofa to alter the space and mood in your lounge, or injecting one or two new pieces of furniture to enliven the decor, it all leads to a fresh perspective. And who doesn’t need that now and again?   For children it’s no different. Yes, they like routine but they also love surprises. Wall art, bunting and bright accessoriescan all transform a child’s bedroom – and give them a reason to take pride in it too.   But if you really want to throw colour into..
Breakfast in bed? It must be Mother’s Day!
Mothering Sunday. The day when theoretically we should all enjoy a lie in and take delivery of a sumptuous breakfast tray complete with smoked salmon, bagels, fresh coffee and a handful of wonderfully scented freesias, if they float your boat that is. The sun will cast a golden pool of light onto the scene as we nibble our morning treat in peace with only the sound of birdsong for company.   By the time we get up after our leisurely brekkie, the kitchen will be sparkling, the floor swept and the dishwasher whirring contentedly, leaving us nothing to do but lounge for a spell..

Pyjamas all the way for our world book day…
So, this week it was World Book Day. And if you didn’t know that you must have been lying in a dark room with the curtains closed playing candy crush for the past fortnight. Anyone with children, or who has friends with children, or knows children that live in the next street, or even the next town, cannot fail to miss this yearly phenomenon. When the letter came home from school a fortnight ago and I glanced over those three little words, my stomach took a nose dive as I began to process exactly what outfits I might have to conjure up this year. Especially since there..

Put a spring in your step with Florence Flutterby.
Well I was going to write about spring today until I opened the curtains to a flurry of snow. It was an interesting school run to say the least. Don’t put those woolly hats away just yet!   Despite this minor setback, we ARE in March whatever the weather and to me that means winter should be a thing of the past so I’m sticking to my plan!   First, let me remind you that this month, not only can you win one of our gorgeous personalised fleece blankets but you will also receive £50 worth of Amazon vouchers should you spend over £750. So if you are planning on new ..
Step into spring with Little Lucy Willow.
We are nearing the end of February and will soon be stepping into spring. What a lovely thought that is too. We have light evenings, warm weather and daffodils to look forward to. The thought of creeping ever so slowly towards summer is enough to raise a smile on anyone’s lips. That flicker of hope, that light at the end of the tunnel! There I go, wishing my life away again…   I know we’re not quite there yet but thanks to Little Lucy Willow we can still have flowers and butterflies. Daisy Brambles and Florence Flutterby will see to that, beckoning spring into bedtime..
Busy half term? Hang in there it’s almost over!
It’s been chaos in our house this week. As half term neatly collided with shrove Tuesday I thought I would invite a couple of my daughter’s friends round to play – and make pancakes…That was my first mistake. Thinking I could guesstimate the quantities of ingredients…that was my second. My third? Overindulging in the tasty treats until I resembled the wolf who ate the seven little kids. The main problem was that I was using the wrong pan. Yes, I am going to blame my tools. The mixture was sticking to the bottom like Barnacle Bill so while I tried and tried again with varying combinations of..
